As men we all run into Betty Swollocks from time to time.
Any time you’re out exercising or wearing trousers or underwear that don't let air circulate in the groin, you’re likely to encounter Betty.
What harm can Betty do?
Men can get a number of diferent ailments from encountering Betty, namely bad smells, chafe, rash and itch.
If you let sweat accumulate in the groin and leave it there, bacteria will start breaking down that sweat, producing what we know as body odour or B.O. You may be the first to notice it, or even worse, someone else will!
How do we get rid of Betty?
Easy; make sure that if you have had a good run in with Betty, that you clean and dry the groin as soon as possible.
We all have normal organisms that live on our skin, mostly made up of various bacteria and fungi. Our immunity is constantly keeping the number of these organisms in check, to make sure that they do not cause any problems such as rash itch or infection.
These bacteria and fungi love a warm, dark, moist area to live in, like the groin creases or under the foreskin. Not cleaning and drying the area after encounters with Betty Swollocks, gives the bacteria and fungi an advantage over our own immunity and allows them to thrive, causing bad smells, itch, rash and infection.
Best advise after Betty
As soon as possible, wash with an appropriate pH shower cleanser such as Dr Macks Cleaner and afterwards use Dr Macks Perfecting Balm to help protect the area from friction, bacteria, fungi and the return of Betty Swollocks!
